We know that setting standards for one facility or a segment
on campus serves as a starting point for establishing long term
Donor Recognition Standards and Guidelines. We've learned that
a Master Plan directs future decision-making and protects against
the impacts of personnel turn-over, diminishing institutional
memory and individual donor demands. With Standards and Guidelines,
decisions are made in accordance with policy, or even as a conscious
divergence from it.
The Master Plan typically includes:
- Audit of Past Recognition as a Prelude to New Solutions
- Inventory of existing Recognition Elements
- Gift Level Hierarchy Planning and Consultation
- Study of Architectural Plans BEFORE construction begins
- Analysis of Way-finding issues in regard to Major Giving
- Budget-setting
- Coordination of Materials and Finishes with the Architectural
Environment
- Creation of new, or application of existing Graphic
Standards and Guidelines
- Recommendation for Enhanced Lighting or improved Facility
Solutions BEFORE build-out
- Updatable Inventory of all Opportunities and their Locations
